First Tee – The Lowcountry Secondary Education Scholarship Program

First Tee – The Lowcountry is thrilled to award the first ever First Tee – The Lowcountry Secondary Education Scholarship in 2024.

This year’s recipient will receive the Anne and Henry Bankhead Scholarship.

A high school senior who is a current or previous participant in our Life Skills classes at our local golf facilities and meets the minimum participation requirement and embodies the First Tee’s Nine Core Values will receive the scholarship.

The $20,000 scholarship will be awarded as an annual grant of $5,000 over a four-year period. The award is to be used for the recipient’s tuition, fees, books, room, and board. The scholarship may be used at other educational opportunities in addition to a traditional 4- year college.

Criteria include:

-2.0 minimum high school GPA

– length of time in First Tee

– community service

-extracurricular activities besides golf

– letters of recommendation from a First Tee coach, high school guidance counselor and a non-family adult,

– essay explaining what you have learned from being a First Tee participant

– financial need, if you wish it to be considered.

Applications will be accepted beginning February 15, 2024
